Job summary

The CDC Foundation, in collaboration with the Mississippi Department of Health, seeks a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for public health programs. This role focuses on HL7 onboarding, data integration, and scalable data flows to improve surveillance and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/DS or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in Rhapsody integration.
• Experience with CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and peer review.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms.
• Proficiency in data modeling, ETL and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Onboard HL7 v2 interfaces with reporting facilities statewide.
• Configure HL7 routing through Rhapsody and ensure secure data delivery.
• Collaborate with MSDH and partners to meet data needs.
• Monitor pipelines and implement improvements.
