Qualifications

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• 3+ years progressive underwriting experience; Loss Sensitive a plus.
• CPCU or professional designation preferred.
• Analytical ability to evaluate underwriting risks using qualitative and quantitative tools.
• Ability to implement underwriting processes and drive profitable business.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, evaluates, and underwrites new and renewal business and presents proposals to agents/brokers.
• Negotiates terms to secure profitable business within authority and guidelines.
• Develops relationships with Agents and Brokers to market products and grow pipeline.
• Manages a complex portfolio, analyzes performance, and drives growth opportunities.
• Documents underwriting decisions with clear rationale and maintains file quality.
• Coaches underwriters and analysts; partners with leadership to influence standards.
