Job summary

Spoonfuls Inc is seeking a Senior Manager, Public Affairs in Newton Center, MA to lead outreach, education, advocacy and community engagement, informing and executing Spoonfuls’ Public Affairs Strategy. Reporting to the Chief of Communications & Public Affairs, this role builds relationships with SLT and stakeholders to drive conversations about food waste, food insecurity, climate, and Spoonfuls' impact.

Qualifications

5+ years’ relevant experience at a Manager level or higher
Passion for, and familiarity with, food and/or environmental justice issues
Familiarity with legislative process and movement-building
Strong communication skills - verbal and written; public speaking experience
Highly organized with strong project management experience
People management experience; hybrid/remote team experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Community & Stakeholder Engagement: position Spoonfuls as a trusted thought leader in food loss, waste prevention and food recovery.
Education & Advocacy: informs and advances Spoonfuls’ Advocacy Priorities.
Administration: supervises junior engagement staff and manages performance metrics.
Public Affairs outreach: build relationships with elected officials, partners, donors, and other stakeholders.
Represent Spoonfuls at community meetings, events, panels, media and other venues.
