Job summary

Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the Behavioral Health and Social Services Branch in providing psychiatric services to Medi-Cal populations. Work under supervision of Chief of Psychiatry, deliver diagnostics, medication management, and psychosocial assessments.

Ideal candidates will have CA NP certification, Drug Device Furnishing (NFP) within six months, and experience with adults and families in multidisciplinary settings.

Qualifications

• Certification as Nurse Practitioner with CA license.
• Three years of NP experience in psychiatric care.
• Drug Device Furnishing (NFP) certificate within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications and safety considerations.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric services under physician supervision including evaluations and medication management.
• Perform or order diagnostic tests and psychosocial assessments.
• Consult with community physicians and mental health professionals.
• Maintain patient records accurately and ensure compliance with regulations.
