Salary: $6,363 - $8,121 approximated monthly* / $36.71 - $46.85 approximated hourly* (as of November 04, 2025).

The Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) partners with the community to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of Shasta County residents. HHSA is organized into four branches: Behavioral Health & Social Services, Public Health, Economic Mobility, and a centralized Administration Services.
This non‑clinical role is within the Utilization Management and Quality Assurance Unit under the Quality Management Program. You will provide clinical and administrative support that facilitates high‑quality treatment services for seriously emotionally disturbed adults and children, including chart auditing, service utilization review, medication monitoring, documentation standards, training, Medi‑Cal site certification, and regulatory compliance.
You will interpret federal, state, and local regulations governing these services and communicate standards to clinical staff. All work is performed under general supervision.
This classification is a licensed Mental Health Clinician. Incumbents must be fully trained and licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners and carry a caseload while delivering mental health services.
The ideal candidate will work well in a team environment, multitask efficiently, and communicate effectively. Experience with severe mental illness services, utilization review, policy writing, or group trainings is highly desirable.

Essential functions include talking or hearing, standing, walking, sitting, and using hands. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus. Employees may need to lift up to 25 pounds. The work environment is usually moderate in noise level.
