Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health, Health Care Administration, MIS, HIS, Statistics or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with data analysis techniques and interpretation.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with health care data.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, conditional formatting, lookup functions and data visualization.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL programming skills with demonstrated experience writing and optimizing complex queries against relational databases.
• Hands‑on experience using Microsoft SQL Server or similar relational database platforms.
• Demonstrated ability developing dashboards utilizing Tableau, Power BI or similar business intelligence software.
• Strong understanding of healthcare claims, provider, membership, financial, quality and operational data.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, manipulate, validate and interpret large, complex healthcare datasets.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to independently identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical findings into concise, actionable recommendations for operational and executive leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and competing deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data collection, manipulation, analysis, and/or research in support of various performance improvement initiatives.
• Conduct population health data analysis, monitor KPI trends, and provide analysis relative to benchmarks and offer other related analytical support to data-driven strategic initiatives.
• Assist with in-depth analytical reasoning, performance reporting, and/or quality assurance testing for the assigned department. This includes database query and data retrieval from vendor applications and internal software solutions (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server).
• Prepare and tailor reports with appropriate visual elements and formatted styling to best fit the end-user, including trend analysis, benchmark comparison, graphs or graphical elements, and tables.
• Conduct impact, gap, or return on investment (ROI) analysis for new and existing department processes, initiatives, and/or system applications.
• Serve as subject matter expert of organization of data tables and sources used by the department for assigned data analytic projects. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate integration data into other Health Plan data tables and sources.
• Provide support for Health Plan data audits and the Quality and Performance Improvement leadership team.
• Assist with data transfer between VIVA HEALTH and its vendors. Assist with quality assurance (QA) of vendor-supplied data and result. Act as liaison between vendors and VIVA HEALTH users.
• Provide data to support research projects and operational improvement initiatives by fulfilling ad-hoc requests. Collaborate with staff to refine query parameters for health care data extraction/analytical support.
• Support the development, maintenance and presentation of KPI Dashboards for internal stakeholders and external provider partners.
