Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Research Associate, Protein Expression & Purification to join an innovative biotechnology organization supporting immunology research in Cambridge, MA. This onsite 6-12 month contract will involve generating and purifying recombinant proteins and collaborating closely with lab teams.

You will use ÄKTA/FPLC systems, maintain detailed records, and support project milestones with rigorous documentation and quality control.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Protein Sciences, or a related scientific field.
2–5 years of hands‑on protein expression, purification, or related laboratory research experience.
Experience with chromatography systems such as ÄKTA or FPLC.
Experience purifying proteins from inclusion bodies; strong documentation and organization.

Responsibilities

Conduct recombinant protein production and purification using chromatography-based workflows.
Isolate, recover, and refine proteins from various expression systems.
Utilize ÄKTA, FPLC, or comparable purification platforms to support research objectives.
Maintain detailed experimental records and document findings in electronic lab systems.
Collaborate with scientists and cross‑functional teams to deliver protein materials and support milestones.
