Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Research Associate, Protein Expression & Purification, to join a biotechnology organization in Cambridge, MA for a 6–12 month onsite contract. You will generate and purify recombinant proteins for research programs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet milestones.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s in a related field with 2–5 years of hands-on protein expression/purification experience and proficiency with ÄKTA or FPLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Protein Sciences, or a related field.
• 2–5 years hands-on experience in protein expression, purification, or related laboratory environments.
• Experience with chromatography systems such as ÄKTA or FPLC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct recombinant protein production and purification activities using chromatography-based workflows and related lab equipment.
• Isolate, recover, and refine proteins from various expression systems, including challenging formats.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and document findings in electronic lab notebooks.
