Job summary
Shiawassee County Prosecutor’s Office seeks a Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney to direct the activities of assistant prosecutors and support staff under the Prosecuting Attorney. You will review warrants, determine charges, and prosecute cases across district, probate, and circuit courts.
You will mentor staff, oversee trial preparation, and coordinate technical services to ensure efficient operations within the office.
Qualifications
- Education: Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Experience: Significant criminal law experience.
Responsibilities
- Directs activities of assistant prosecutors and staff under the Prosecuting Attorney.
- Reviews and authorizes warrants; handles charging decisions and prosecutions in district, probate, and circuit courts.
- Leads trial preparation, research, and case development; mentors staff; develops office policies and standards.
