Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree and at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in juvenile, district court, child support, civil and felony prosecutions.
• Valid driver's license and admission to practice before State and Federal Courts.
• Member in good standing of the Washington State Bar Association.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute a broad range of criminal cases in District, Juvenile, or Superior Court, including bench and jury trials.
• Screen, review, and evaluate factual and legal bases to determine sufficiency and file charges as needed.
• Prepare for hearings and trials through witness interviews, legal research, and drafting documents.
• Engage in plea negotiations and litigation strategies to obtain resolutions.
• Carry appellate caseload, including briefs and oral arguments.
• Respond to inquiries from state agencies, the public, and victims about legal principles and court processes.
• Remain current on laws and procedures; provide advice to county departments and agencies as assigned.
