Job summary

Aurex in Huntsville, AL is seeking a senior Propulsion Engineer to lead propulsion systems on next-generation hypersonic and missile programs. You will architect clean‑sheet designs, perform propulsion analyses, and develop manufacturing and test processes for solid rocket motors, cold‑gas systems, and reaction control systems.

This role demands hands‑on leadership, with the ability to guide a multidisciplinary team through design, integration, and flight‑testing under demanding schedules.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
• In-person work at the Huntsville, AL headquarters.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with relevant experience.
• Masters or PhD with real-world propulsion experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design propulsion and reaction control systems.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings for manufacturing.
• Lead propulsion analysis for solid, cold-gas, mono-, and bi-propellant systems.
• Develop manufacturing, integration, and testing processes for propulsion systems.
• Lead hardware-in-loop propulsion tests planning and execution.
• Source propulsion components from traditional and non-traditional suppliers.
• Lead a team through design, build, test, and delivery under accelerated timelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless integration into platforms.
