Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Proposal Writer to manage the RFP process for the K-12 market, coordinating with sales, marketing, and product teams to craft high-quality proposals.

You will help develop, audit, and maintain a library of messaging and branding, while seeking efficiencies to scale templates and processes. Strong writing, editing, and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in proposal management with sales support or writing.
• BA/BS in writing, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Ability to coordinate proposal efforts across teams within tight deadlines.
• Experience developing and evaluating proposals balancing user needs with business requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders.
• Ability to stay agile while managing a high volume of work.
• Familiarity with MS Office and Adobe Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the RFP process from start to finish, including vetting, strategy calls, content collaboration, editing, and proposal prep.
• Analyze RFP bid to determine compliant response structure and format.
• Generate detailed response plans, schedules, and technical elements for proposals.
• Delegate tasks to team members as appropriate.
• Partner with Sales to differentiate proposals and secure a winning first impression.
• Identify gaps in the current RFP response strategy and propose improvements.
• Track, evaluate, and improve responses based on feedback, needs, and market research.
• Complete other duties as assigned to meet company goals.
