Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Office of Sponsored Projects seeks a Senior Proposal Analyst to counsel faculty and staff on contracts, proposals, and budgets for externally funded research. You will review submissions, ensure compliance with applicable policies, and coordinate the approval process before presenting to sponsors.

Responsibilities include advising on submission processes, handling sponsor requests, and managing multiple proposals with attention to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social sciences, or technical/scientific field.
• At least five years of experience in the preparation, processing, and/or negotiation of research grants and/or contract proposals.
• Experience working with Electronic Research Administration (eRA).
• Knowledge of federal, state, local and university sponsored project guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to prioritize tasks under deadlines and pressure.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Review and submission of proposals prepared by faculty, staff, and PIs to sponsoring agencies.
• Exercise sound decision-making when proposals align with policies.
• Coordinate review and final approval process before sponsor submission.
• Interpret university procedures for sponsored research and apply regulations as needed.
• Consult with faculty on proposal submission processes for prospective sponsors.
• Respond to sponsor information requests and revised budgets.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
• Oversee high-visibility projects as needed.
