Job summary

Pacific Life seeks a Senior Actuary to join our Enterprise Modeling Team in Newport Beach, CA (on-site 4 days/wk) with relocation assistance to Newport Beach, NE, or Charlotte. You will lead Prophet model development, governance, and testing across the organization.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years actuarial experience, FSA, and strong Python/SQL programming skills, collaborating with IT, valuation, pricing, and other actuarial teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related field.
• 6+ years actuarial experience with Prophet modeling.
• FSA designation and strong programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute production aspects of the model development life cycle, including testing of valuation and production-model implementation and conversion projects.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT), model validation, and merges into the Master model.
• Support defect resolution and mitigation.
• Maintain model documentation and secure approvals for all changes.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve modeling workflows.
• Provide oversight of model staging and integration across use cases.
• Collaborate with IT and business partners to develop simple, effective modeling solutions.
• Troubleshoot and provide user support for Enterprise Prophet users.
