Job summary

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, seeks an underwriter to manage underwriting and production of individual risk accounts within a team. You will maintain broker relationships, participate in risk audits, and support strategic marketing initiatives to grow market share.

The role requires experience in commercial property insurance, strong policy rating knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance industry, with an emphasis on commercial property insurance.
• Proficient in policy rating systems.
• Familiarity with policy and contract wording.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently with customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and produce individual risk accounts.
• Maintain client/broker contacts and relationships.
• Contribute to risk audit processes.
• Manage T&E expenditures with Territory Manager.
• Develop annual personal P&D plan with leadership.
• Assist in training and onboarding of new hires.
• Underwrite terms, conditions, and pricing for property facultative business.
• Maintain audit results by adhering to guidelines.
• Communicate with underwriting, actuarial, legal, and claims teams for profitability.
• Maintain and service a book of business; provide top customer service.
• Participate in development activities: identify brokers/markets; marketing with brokers; broker/client visits as needed.
• Collaborate in a high-performance team setting.
