Great American Insurance Group is seeking a seasoned Property Claims Specialist in Cincinnati to manage complex claims and lead investigations while negotiating settlements. The role combines on-site collaboration four days a week with one remote day, focusing on coverage determinations, reserving, and strategic defense coordination with local counsel.

The candidate will have 7+ years in property and casualty claims, a Bachelor’s in a related field, and an active multi-state adjuster license;

Qualifications

• Education and licensing as required for complex property claims handling.
• 7+ years of property and casualty claims experience, litigation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims procedures.
• Ability to negotiate settlements and manage high-stakes cases.

Responsibilities

• Manages a large inventory of complex claims and evaluates compensability.
• Plans and conducts investigations to confirm coverage and damages.
• Negotiates settlements and reserves within authority.
• May attend arbitrations, mediations, or trials.
• Coordinates with local outside counsel and communicates with insureds and partners.
• Ensures timely payments and maintains detailed claim files.
• Ensures compliance with statutes, regulations, and company policies.
