Job summary

Great American Insurance Group seeks a Property Litigation Claims Specialist to manage a large backlog of complex property claims and lead investigations, negotiations, and settlements. The role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills along with a deep knowledge of policy language and coverage.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of property and casualty claims handling experience.
• Experience handling first-party property claims in litigation preferred.
• Active adjuster license in multiple states.
• Completion of or progress toward a professional designation (AIC) preferred.
• Law degree is a significant plus; AI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages a large inventory of complex claims and evaluates compensability.
• Plans and conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and damages.
• Determines and negotiates settlements/reserves within authority.
• May attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Assigns local outside counsel and leads strategy with counsel.
• Conveys coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and partners.
• Authorizes payments within authority and ensures timely processing.
• Maintains detailed claim files and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
