Job summary

Great American Insurance Group in Cincinnati seeks an experienced Property Claims Specialist to manage complex claims, conduct investigations, negotiate settlements, and coordinate with defense counsel.

This on-site role requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of property and casualty claims handling, with a license in multiple states; a law degree or AI experience are pluses. On-site four days a week with one day remote.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• Experience handling first-party property claims in litigation preferred.
• Active adjuster licenses in multiple states.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or related field.
• AIC designation or progress toward it preferred.
• Law degree is a significant plus; AI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate compensability of complex claims per policy terms.
• Investigate claims to confirm coverage and damages.
• Negotiate settlements and reserves within prescribed authority.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Coordinate with local outside counsel and defense teams.
• Maintain detailed claim files and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company procedures.
• Communicate complex coverage matters to insureds and partners.
