Job summary

Berkley Environmental, an established Berkley Company, seeks an experienced GL claims professional in New Jersey to review, investigate, analyze and settle complex property damage and bodily injury claims within authority limits. You will conduct coverage analyses and negotiations, coordinating with independent adjusters when needed.

Responsibilities include evaluating liability and damages, resolving disputes, and preparing coverage opinions.

Qualifications

• At least 10+ years GL claim handling experience.
• Multi state experience required.
• Litigation experience required.
• Ability to work independently while assimilating various technical subjects.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle assigned property damage or bodily injury claims with authority up to $150,000.
• Complete coverage analysis.
• Conduct necessary investigations to determine coverage, liability and damages.
• Evaluate, negotiate and settle claims within authority or seek higher authority for excess claims.
• Resolve coverage disputes with insureds and agents.
• Prepare coverage opinion letters.
