Job summary

Fogelman is a nationally recognized multifamily real estate company seeking a Property Accounting Manager to lead a team of property accountants and oversee financial operations for a portfolio of properties. You will ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, timely close, and strong controls.

Collaborate with property managers, owners, clients, and senior leadership to optimize financial performance and provide insightful analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
5-7 years of experience in property accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/management role.
Experience overseeing multifamily property accounting, financial reporting, close processes, reconciliations, cash management, audits, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor a team of property accountants, providing guidance on accounting processes, policies, and career development.
Serve as primary accounting contact and financial business partner for property managers, regional leaders, asset managers, clients, and senior leadership.
Lead and oversee monthly and year-end close activities for assigned properties with accurate financial statements and schedules.
Oversee cash operations for assigned properties, including disbursements, deposits, wire transfers, and reconciliations.
Assist in developing and enforcing internal controls and support audits; stay current on industry best practices.
