Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience and financial statement preparation required; property accounting preferred.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles with high accuracy and time management.
• Intermediate Excel functionality is required.
• Experience working with high volumes of data.
• Yardi experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews work by property accountants for accuracy and completeness; large transaction volume.
• Ensures month-end close deadlines are met and reviews reconciliations.
• collaborates with Accounting Managers on staffing and cross-training opportunities.
• Reviews the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for accuracy.
• Understands financial reports and their impact on the single-family rental business.
• Mentors staff and supports professional development.
• Partners with HOA, Leasing, Operations and other units to understand financial impact.
• Interacts with field teams and external partners to review financial results.
• Prepares and reviews recurring and ad hoc financial analyses.
• Assists with external/internal audits (SOX, compliance, controls).
• Participates in training to increase knowledge of the business.
