Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Senior Property Accountant for a real estate client in Seattle, WA. You will oversee accounting for an assigned commercial property portfolio, close monthly, prepare financial statements, and support budgets and forecasts.

The role requires 4+ years of accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, experience with Yardi Voyager/PayScan, CAM, and collaboration with property managers to explain results; hybrid work after an initial onsite period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience; commercial real estate experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
• Experience with monthly close processes and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with CAM calculations and property-level budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting functions for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties.
• Complete month-end close activities and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare property-level financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and reforecasting.
• Account for operating expenses, CAM charges, property taxes, insurance, and tenant recoveries.
• Assist with annual CAM reconciliations and tenant recovery calculations.
• Assist with accounting system upgrades, testing, and process enhancements.
• Partner with Property Managers to explain financial results and provide accounting guidance.
• Review work prepared by junior accounting staff and provide coaching when appropriate.
• Assist accounting leadership with special projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

Pay: $110k base - $130k base.

Work Environment: Hybrid after 60 days fully onsite

Our real estate client is an established commercial real estate organization managing a diverse portfolio of properties and is seeking a Senior Property Accountant.

Key Responsibilities:
