Senior Property Accountant Job Description

A New York owner-operator/developer, seeks experienced senior property accountant in Manhattan office.

We are seeking candidates who are detailed oriented, proactive in their responsibilities, and have broad real estate knowledge of shopping centers, retail and other asset types. Candidates needs to be able to work on their own and work well in a team environment.

Monthly responsibilities

• Responsible for the monthly reporting packages consisting of shopping centers, office building, development properties, garages and retail spaces.
• Update the escrow balances and mortgage summary
• Review cash flow and various management
• Provide outside accountants with the statement of changes, and sources and uses
• Reconcile tenant security accounts and
• Responsible for creating AP batches for the mortgages in
• Review and approve invoices in
• Review bank
• Update the escrow and mortgage balances for Treasury
• Maintain accounting
• Review distribution schedule provided by Treasury Department and document Annual responsibilities
• Prepare quarterly status reports with asset
• Prepare the annual budgets and 3-year projections with Property Managers and Lease Administrator for leasing assumptions and operating expenses.
• Review CAM reconciliations for budgets and year-end
• Prepare year end audit workpaper packages and deliver to
• Work with the auditors to complete the audited financial
• Record journal entries for consolidated books at year
• Update GAAP straight-line excel schedules for year
• Update GAAP depreciation excel schedules for year Other responsibilities
• Submit quarterly financials to
• Monitor progress of capital improvement budgets
• Responsible for entering property tax bills in Yardi
• Annual filing of Income and Expense forms for
• Prepare TC201/203’s and tax petitions with the outside
