Property Management group based in Manhattan is looking for a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated Senior Property Accountant responsible for preparing all financial statements and providing management/client with financial information requested. Yardi a must!

Core Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data and summarize in a clear, useful manner.
• Prepare financial statements and reporting packages.
• Prepare and enter journal entries.
• Participate in the annual audits by preparing workpapers.
• Prepare month-end journal and closing entries.
• Manage monthly bank requisitions.
• Handle monthly property allocations, if applicable.
• Review monthly billing statements for accuracy.
• Verify rent rolls for correctness.
• Prepare CAM and tax reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing and analyzing annual budgets.
• Maintain weekly cash position analysis.
• Communicate and process monthly debt service payments.
• Support with special projects as needed.
• Experience with Yardi software is required.

Position Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a Senior Property Accountant.
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
• Prior public accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience with Yardi or MRI software is helpful; real estate industry experience is required.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with CAM/Tax billings is advantageous.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Effective leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
