Our client is a prominent Commercial Real Estate company operating in Bergen County, NJ. With a consistent pipeline of property acquisitions, the organization is continuing to grow and is now looking for a Senior Property Accountant.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$90k - $110k plus bonus
Position Overview:
As a Senior Property Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our property portfolio. The Senior Property Accountant will work closely with the team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and provide insightful analysis to inform business decisions.
Responsibilities of the Senior Property Accountant:
- Prepare and maintain financial records for all properties under management.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of property accounts and ensure accuracy.
- Analyze financial data to support decision-making processes.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including income and expense reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other industry standards.
- Manage and oversee budgeting processes for various properties.
- Provide support during property acquisitions and dispositions.
- Collaborate with the internal and external audit teams during audits.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Property Accountant:- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or residential property accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and real estate finance.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Property Accountant:- Familiarity with property management software.
- Experience with real estate financing, leasing, and asset management.
- Previous experience in a senior-level accounting position.
- Knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards and practices.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or any related field.
- Certified in the relevant state as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MRI (Master of Real Estate Institute).
