Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for an assigned portfolio of properties.
• Prepare property-level financial statements with variance analysis against budget and prior year.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for cash, mortgage, escrow, and intercompany accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset, depreciation, capital expenditure, and construction in progress schedules.
• Perform CAM reconciliations, review tenant billings, and account for lease terms and escalations.
• Record acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and related purchase accounting entries.
• Prepare lender, investor, and partnership reporting including distribution and waterfall support.
• Lead the annual budget process for assigned properties in coordination with property management.
• Support the annual audit and tax preparation with schedules and documentation.
• Review the work of staff accountants and mentor junior team members.

Job Details

This role owns the full accounting cycle for an assigned portfolio and serves as the primary accounting contact for property management.

• Advanced Excel skills and experience with a real estate accounting system such as Yardi or MRI
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
