Senior Property Accountant | Houston, TX

Hunington Properties is growing, and our Retail Accounting team is looking for a sharp, experienced Senior Property Accountant to join us.

• Full-cycle property accounting — P&L, balance sheet, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
• Annual CAM reconciliations and tenant billing adjustments with full supporting documentation
• AP review, invoice coding, and payment processing through AvidXchange
• New lease setup and processing in Rent Manager upon execution
• Monthly financial reporting and annual budget preparation for assigned properties
• Direct collaboration with Property Managers to resolve tenant and operational accounting matters
• Onboard team members onto new platforms and tools; escalate access or system issues as needed
• Assist leadership in improving accounting processes, internal controls, and department growth initiatives
• 3–5+ years in commercial or retail real estate accounting
• Hands-on experience with Rent Manager, Yardi, or a similar platform
• AvidXchange or equivalent AP automation experience
• Advanced Excel skills — pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, multi-tab financial models
• Strong communicator who follows through, closes the loop, and takes ownership
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
