Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant / Assistant Controller with 3–5 years of real estate accounting experience to join our team. This is not a traditional accounting role—it requires someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable wearing multiple hats. In addition to full-cycle property accounting, this position will support operations, budgeting, asset management, and financial analysis across the portfolio. You will work directly with the CFO and ownership, playing a critical role in financial oversight and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-cycle property accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of owned and third-party managed assets
• Review and reconcile financial reports from third-party managers
• Manage monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including CAM reconciliations and NNN expense tracking
• Perform general ledger management, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of real estate financial practices, including lease abstracts and reimbursement structures
• Oversee annual budgeting process in collaboration with commercial property managers
• Conduct budget vs. actual and variance analysis across multiple assets
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and property-level financial modeling
• Support underwriting and financial review of potential acquisitions
• Help coordinate and support refinance processes, including providing financial data and documentation
• Be a key point of contact for accounting and finance issues at the property level

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in real estate property accounting (commercial/multitenant/NNN preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of CAM accounting and triple net lease structures
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with property management/accounting software a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders
• Comfortable in a small team, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities
