Our client located in Brookhaven, GA is looking for a Senior Property Accountant to join their team!

Pay: $85k - $90k + Bonus

Mostly Remote, In office once a month

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently complete the property month-end close process in its entirety to produce financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

• Ability to analyze the property level balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements.

• Articulate the current state of financials, advocate best practices, and manage expectations for client and internal associates.

• Provide property cash management guidance by reviewing disbursements and projected cash flows to convey an accurate cash position to stakeholders.

• Support and train fellow staff to maintain consistency and integrity of data.

• Lead ad-hoc teams to address emerging department issues.

• Assist in the migration and stabilization of properties as they transition through portfolio.

• Reconcile property bank accounts and trustee bond accounts.

• Serve as internal oversight to ensure accuracy of property delinquency reports, pre-paid rent journals, security deposit ledgers and monitor property refunds.

• Post and maintain accounts receivable entries including income, vacancies, and write-offs.

• Review and maintain general ledger activity in accordance with GAAP.

• Prepare reconciliations to ensure general ledger integrity.

• Coordinate with various lending institutions and foundations to ensure compliance with loan, debt, and bond documents.

• Assist with the year-end audit and tax return preparation

OUR EXPECTATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university or college.

• 2-4 years of experience utilizing GAAP based accounting.

• Residential experience is preferred.
