Job summary

Castelion in the United States is seeking a Senior Materials & Process Engineer to serve as the technical authority for solid rocket motor propellant. You will lead development, qualification, and scale-up of propellant formulations and manufacturing processes to meet performance, production rate, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science/engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years with energetic materials, preferably aerospace.
• Experience with propellant characterization: mechanical testing, impact, burn-rate, impulse.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; US work authorization and ITAR eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for energetic materials; guidance on processing, propellant qualification, and safety standards.
• Scale propellant mixing and casting from development to production.
• Implement QA and qualification testing; ensure material consistency and safety.
• Develop and maintain material specifications, process controls, and test plans.
• Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement related to propellant performance and manufacturability.
