Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Prompt Engineer for a 100% remote role in the U.S. You will define standards for LLM-based applications, design prompts and retrieval strategies, and architect agentic systems with tool use and multi-step reasoning.

The role requires shipping production LLM products and mentoring engineers across teams. You will lead evaluation frameworks, build internal tooling, and ensure responsible AI practices, safety, and policy enforcement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with emphasis on LLM-based applications.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered products to production.
• Deep familiarity with LLM APIs and agent frameworks.
• Strong Python skills and responsible AI considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define organization-wide standards, patterns, and reference architectures for LLM-based applications.
• Design prompt structures, instruction templates, and retrieval strategies for diverse production use cases.
• Architect agentic systems with tool use, planning, memory, and multi-step reasoning.
• Lead retrieval-augmented generation pipelines including chunking, indexing, and reranking.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for prompt quality, agent reliability, and end-to-end task success.
• Build internal tooling and libraries to accelerate LLM development across teams.
• Establish guardrails and policy enforcement patterns for LLM-powered products.
• Collaborate with model engineering teams on prompt-model co-design and fine-tuning opportunities.
• Mentor engineers and applied scientists on prompt engineering and LLM application architecture.
• Lead red-teaming exercises and improve robustness against adversarial inputs.
• Track latency, cost, and quality trade-offs and recommend optimizations.
• Document patterns and lessons learned for broad internal reuse.
• Stay current with LLM capabilities and translate advances into practical guidance.
