Job summary

Cinema West in California is seeking a Projection Technician to support theatres across California and Idaho. You will perform preventive maintenance, installations and rapid troubleshooting of cinema projection and audio systems, with after-hours work as needed.

The role requires hands-on technical skills and must align with our operations team. The ideal candidate has substantial experience with projection and cinema technology, strong leadership, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years operating and maintaining motion picture projection and sound systems.
• Experience with digital cinema equipment preferred.
• Ability to travel extensively (CA & ID).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and preventive maintenance on servers, projectors and audio and digital cinema equipment via on-site visits and phone support.
• Resolve issues with the Technical Service Team to ensure timely resolutions.
• Train Theatre Managers on operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware/software.
• Test components with meters and test equipment to verify functionality.
• Record activities in UpKeep and document hours, expenses and travel.
• Respond to location communications within set timeframes.
