Job summary

The Hagerman Group is seeking a Project Superintendent for commercial construction in the Northwest Indiana/Chicago area. Lead on-site operations, manage safety, budget, and schedule on assigned projects, and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Ideal candidates bring 9+ years in field construction with a supervisory track record, strong reading of plans, and proficiency with PM software such as Procore, plus cost-control skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years of progressive field construction experience with 4+ years in a supervisory role.
• High level of technical knowledge and problem-solving capabilities in construction or engineering.
• Proficiency reading plans and specs and broad knowledge of construction disciplines.
• Experience understanding project finances and cost control.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable MVRS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day on-site operations for commercial projects, including scheduling, quality control, and safety.
• Supervise trades and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with design and standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to set timelines and report progress.
• Conduct regular site inspections and address any issues affecting safety, quality, or schedule.
• Maintain project documentation: daily logs, photos, and change orders; manage permits and approvals.
