Job summary

The Hagerman Group is seeking a Project Manager for Commercial Construction in the Chicago/Northwest Indiana area. You will lead projects from start to finish, coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners to deliver on scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities include planning, site visits, procurement, risk management, and ensuring safety and quality standards while guiding internal field teams and subcontractors to successful project completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management; healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and project management best practices.
• Proficiency with construction tools including Procore, CMiC, ASTA, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and multitasking capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, initiate, and manage construction projects within scope, budgets, schedules, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors on plans and execution.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure safety and quality.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and reports.
• Procure materials and services, negotiate contracts, and coordinate deliveries.
• Lead project teams and supervise subcontractors and field staff.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and resolve conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and building codes.
• Foster a collaborative, safety-focused work environment.
