Job summary

ResourceTek seeks an experienced Senior Project Scheduler for a 6–9 month assignment in Muscle Shoals, AL, supporting a major capital expansion with Direct Chill Caster installation and commissioning.

The role requires strong CPM scheduling, MS Project proficiency, and coordination with owners, contractors, and vendors to track progress and risks. Industrial construction and metals manufacturing exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Senior-level project scheduling experience supporting industrial construction and mechanical equipment installation projects.
• Demonstrated experience on capital projects valued at $50 million or more.
• Advanced proficiency with CPM scheduling, schedule logic, baselining, progress measurement, resource loading, cost forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, baselining, maintenance, and control of detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Coordinate schedule development and updates with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, equipment vendors, and other project stakeholders.
• Create and manage Gantt charts, critical path schedules, milestones, logic ties, resource loading, and cost-loaded schedule activities.
• Collect and validate progress through field observations, proof-of-record documentation, contractor input, and direct coordination with project management personnel.
• Track procurement and delivery of materials and equipment required for project completion, including vendor milestones and long-lead items.
• Analyze schedule logic, durations, float, resource assignments, sequencing, and constructability constraints; identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform impact and delay analyses for proposed changes, emerging risks, and schedule variances.
• Provide timely schedule status reports, forecasts, look-ahead schedules, and executive-level updates to project leadership.
• Alert project managers to potential delays and clearly communicate available recovery, mitigation, or resequencing options.
• Develop and maintain accurate as-built construction schedules and historical schedule records.
• Support project goals, progress measurement, change management, claims prevention, and schedule-related documentation.
• Perform other project controls and scheduling duties as assigned.

In support of our client, a global manufacturer of advanced aluminum products and solutions serving the automotive, aerospace, packaging, and industrial markets, ResourceTek is seeking an experienced Senior Project Scheduler. This project-based assignment located in Muscle Shoals, AL that will support a major capital expansion initiative, specifically the installation and commissioning of a Direct Chill Caster, with an expected duration of 6-9 months.

PROJECT PROFILE

Major capital construction programs valued at $50 million or more, with an emphasis on metals manufacturing and mechanical equipment installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, schedule logic, baselining, progress measurement, resource loading, cost association, forecasting, and impact analysis.
• Ability to independently build, modify, update, analyze, and report on complex project schedules using verified field and project documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across owners, contractors, vendors, engineers, and field teams.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting caster installation or similar large-scale process equipment installation projects.
• Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification or comparable project controls credential.
• Experience with claims prevention, schedule risk analysis, delay analysis, and recovery planning.Experience supporting multiple concurrent work packages or long-term capital expansion programs.
