Job description

This role involves managing assigned projects throughout their lifecycle, including developing scope and technical sections of proposals, participating in contract negotiations, and overseeing project delivery to meet HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance goals: quality, timeliness, budget, and client satisfaction. The position requires proactive management of budgets, schedules, technical and contractual requirements, and client communications. The Senior Project Manager typically manages multi-disciplinary teams for projects valued between $1M and $25M.

What You'll Do:

1. Develop project scope and fee quotations; assist in preparing technical proposals and contracts following HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
2. Serve as the primary client liaison, managing project teams to deliver scope, schedule, and budgets, and lead contract negotiations.
3. Perform technical tasks including analysis, reports, design, specifications, and production for assigned projects.
4. Implement the project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA); lead project management plan development and execution; supervise and mentor team members.
5. Oversee staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and performance reviews.
6. Partner with Business Development teams to build client relationships and pursue mega projects, including proposal development and presentations.
7. May be responsible for staff recruitment, hiring, development, and succession planning.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience.
• At least 4 years of successful engineering project management.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven success in delivering multi-disciplinary or large projects on time, on budget, with high quality and client satisfaction.
• Experience leading large teams and managing risk and change independently.
• Proficiency with project management tools and systems.
• Ability to lead HNTB's sophisticated processes on projects.
• Strong client interface skills.
• Talent deployment and development skills for client continuity.

What We Prefer:

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 15 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
