Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager in CT to lead technically demanding geotechnical projects and develop client relationships.

You will drive proposals through delivery, mentor junior staff, coordinate fieldwork, and contribute to business growth while collaborating with industry-leading professionals.

Hybrid work setup with exposure to excavation support, foundations, retaining walls, and advanced modelling like PLAXIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 9–10+ years geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with earthwork, deep foundations, load testing, excavation support systems, retaining walls, and ground improvement.
• Proven project management including budgets, schedules, proposals, and client management.
• Strong communication skills and mentoring experience.

• Lead geotechnical projects from proposal stage through final delivery.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, specifications, construction plans, and engineering recommendations.
• Lead client relationships, project coordination, budgeting, billing, and scheduling.
• Mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers and technical staff.

What You'll Lead

You will serve as both a technical and client-facing leader responsible for project execution, team development, and business growth.

• Manage geotechnical projects from proposal stage through final delivery.


• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, specifications, construction plans, and engineering recommendations.


• Lead client relationships, project coordination, budgeting, billing, and scheduling activities.


• Mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers and technical staff.


• Support excavation design, retaining structures, and advanced geotechnical analyses, including PLAXIS 3D modelling.


• Oversee field investigations, construction observations, and quality control efforts.


• Help expand existing client relationships while supporting new business development initiatives.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.


• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.


• 9-10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.


• Strong background in geotechnical investigations, construction inspections, and field operations.


• Experience with earthwork, deep foundations, load testing, excavation support systems, retaining walls, and ground improvement.


• Proven project management experience, including budgets, schedules, proposals, and client management.


• Strong communication skills with experience mentoring engineers and leading project teams.


• Familiarity with industry software such as PLAXIS, LPILE, SLOPE/W, gINT, and related geotechnical analysis tools is highly desirable.
