Job summary

Balfour Beatty in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Project Manager for the Special Projects Group (SPG). You will lead a project team through all phases from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will manage budgets, schedules, contracts, and client relationships, collaborating with the Superintendent, Project Executive, and design partners to uphold our standards and Zero Harm safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 6-8 years of progressive experience in commercial construction project management.
• Proven ability to manage full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout.
• Proficiency with project management/scheduling software (Procore, Primavera P6, Sage 300 CRE or similar).
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, design partners, and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain budgets, financial reports, and change orders.
• Provide constructability input and staffing plans during preconstruction.
• Lead scheduling baselines and pull-planning with the team.
• Manage subcontractor buyout, contracts, and timely material delivery.
• Promote Zero Harm safety culture and ensure quality control.
• Chair OAC meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and internal teams.
• Direct project turnover and closeout documentation.
