Job summary

Balfour Beatty in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent. You will coordinate trades, manage design and construction activities, and uphold safety, quality, and schedule performance across the project.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and driving project execution while promoting teamwork and innovation in the Carolinas Division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM/CE/Arch or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction.
• Strong drawings, specifications, and trade coordination knowledge.
• Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, Sage 300 CRE or similar.
• Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager and Superintendent by coordinating trades and activities.
• Review documents, prepare RFIs, and coordinate submittal reviews with designers/subcontractors.
• Maintain schedules, update look-ahead plans, and track progress.
• Assist with cost management, back charges, and change orders.
• Lead MEP and building envelope coordination, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
