Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager will report directly to the Assistant Director of the IT PMO and will play a vital role in delivering innovative software applications and infrastructure to support Texas's educational system. This role involves leading Agile software development teams through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring on-time delivery of projects that align with legislative mandates and strategic priorities. The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership, manage project staff, and foster collaboration across various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Consistency (20%): Develop and evaluate project processes to ensure consistent application across teams. Manage changes in project scope and schedules. Develop comprehensive project budgets and detailed project plans.
- Deliverable Quality (20%): Monitor and measure application and deliverable quality. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensure deliverables meet contractual agreements and stay within budget constraints.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction (20%): Proactively communicate with key stakeholders. Solicit and incorporate stakeholder feedback. Build and maintain strong professional relationships across the organization.
- Leadership (20%): Manage complex project challenges and resolve issues effectively. Identify and mitigate project risks. Motivate project teams to take ownership and drive continuous improvement.
- Vision (20%): Define and articulate application and technology roadmaps. Lead project initiation and planning to ensure alignment with the agency’s strategic commitments.
