Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Idaho Falls seeks a Project Manager within the PMO to lead complex, multi-year projects from scoping to closeout, using earned value management to track performance.

The role collaborates with operations and engineering, interfaces with customers and stakeholders, and ensures schedules and costs baselines are maintained. A PMP and U.S. citizenship are required, with DOE clearance as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Science, Business, Construction Management, or Project Management).
• Typically requires 10 years of experience if technical degree and 14 years if non-technical degree.
• PMP or other project management certification preferred.
• Experience working in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program is a plus.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Implement Earned Value Management System, risk management and planning.
• Develop corrective action plans for troubled projects.
• Coordinate initial work planning with operations and engineering to build resource-loaded schedule and cost estimates.
• Interface with operations, project planners/schedulers, and customers to ensure reports and objectives are met.
