XPO Logistics, Inc. is hiring a Senior Project Manager, Labor Planning in Ann Arbor, MI. This hybrid role focuses on leading labor planning initiatives across operations, coordinating with process owners, and delivering scalable solutions to improve staffing, service, and cost metrics.

You will manage end-to-end project plans, drive change across teams, and mentor others while leveraging your expertise in PM tools and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of work experience in project management, operations or HR, preferably in logistics or manufacturing.
• Project management experience including responsibility for project plans, timelines, risks, deliverables and stakeholder communication.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Responsabilités

• Independently create and manage cohesive project plans with clear scope, milestones, critical paths, task dependencies, resource needs, risks, issues and mitigation actions.
• Partner with business process owners and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, define and prioritize labor planning opportunities that support staffing, service, productivity, cost, quality and safety objectives.
• Coordinate the design, development, testing, pilot and implementation of labor planning tools, system enhancements, processes and programs.
• Translate operational needs into business requirements, process flows, user stories, wireframes and implementation plans in collaboration with business and technology partners.
• Use operational KPIs, reporting, data mining and analysis to scope opportunities, monitor project performance, identify gaps and support data-driven decisions.

What you need to succeed as a Senior Project Manager, Labor Planning at XPO:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience
• 2 years of work experience in project management, operations or human resources, preferably in logistics or manufacturing
• Project management experience including responsibility for project plans, timelines, risks, deliverables and stakeholder communication
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred qualifications:

• PMP certification
• Experience in transportation, logistics, service center operations or less-than-truckload freight
• Experience with labor planning, labor management systems, workforce planning tools or HR systems
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet or another project and portfolio management platform
• Knowledge of process improvement, change management and operational implementation methodologies
• Experience developing training materials, standard work and executive-level presentations
• Self-motivated, results-oriented work style with sound judgment in complex or urgent situations

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Independently create and manage cohesive project plans with clear scope, milestones, critical paths, task dependencies, resource needs, risks, issues and mitigation actions.
• Partner with business process owners and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, define and prioritize labor planning opportunities that support staffing, service, productivity, cost, quality and safety objectives.
• Coordinate the design, development, testing, pilot and implementation of labor planning tools, system enhancements, processes and programs.
• Translate operational needs into business requirements, process flows, user stories, wireframes and implementation plans in collaboration with business and technology partners.
• Use operational KPIs, reporting, data mining and analysis to scope opportunities, monitor project performance, identify gaps and support data-driven decisions.
• Manage projects through completion, track deliverables and expected benefits, and escalation roadblocks, bottlenecks or decisions requiring leadership support.
• Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and action items, and provide concise status updates to project teams, field stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Develop and execute change-management plans, including stakeholder communication, training, adoption support and reinforcement activities.
• Serve as an active trainer and change agent for labor management initiatives, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable and sustainable for field operations.
• Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Operations, Human Resources, Technology, Safety and other centers of excellence.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews and audits to evaluate adoption, effectiveness, savings and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Develop presentations that clearly communicate project status, solution components, risks, business impact and recommendations.
• Support other project managers and team members as business priorities require.
