Job summary

Cranshaw Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of multi-family residential construction projects in the Greater Boston area. You will serve as the primary contact for clients, design teams, and trade partners, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in commercial construction, strong leadership, and a proven track record in delivering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, facilities management, engineering or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in commercial construction projects exceeding $20M, preferably in multi-family residential.
  • Knowledge of full construction cycle from preconstruction through closeout, including sub-structure, envelope, finishes and MEP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Procore or similar), scheduling software (MS Project or similar).
  • LEED, CM-Lean, OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, PMP, Passive House and other trainings and certifications are beneficial.
  • Superior communications (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, ability to plan and manage time well, prioritizing critical path constructability issues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one or more large and/or complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee all bidding efforts, proposals, and client interview process.
  • Provide oversight of all project document control processes, ensuring consistency across drawing management, RFIs, submittals, and project communications.
  • Lead the full financial oversight of the project, including development of detailed scopes of work, subcontractor procurement strategy, forecasting, change management, and final approval of billing and cost reporting.
  • Direct schedule strategy in partnership with field leadership and trade partners, ensuring alignment between procurement and critical project milestones.
  • Build, strengthen, and sustain long-term relationships with clients, internal teams, and key project partners, serving as a trusted advisor through the project lifecycle.
  • Own overall project performance, consistently delivering work with the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability to schedule and budget commitments.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and clear direction to Assistant Projects Manager and Project Managers, ensuring effective delegation, development, and execution of responsibilities.
  • Champion and visibly lead a culture of safety, ensuring it remains the top priority across all phases of the project and is embedded in all planning and execution activities.
  • Support business development efforts by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying new opportunities.

Overview

Senior Project Manager - Multi-Family Residential, Greater Boston. Cranshaw Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team. This individual will lead the full lifecycle of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, delivering exceptional results for our clients. The role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, design teams, and trade partners, and is accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in the multi-family residential sector, with wood-frame construction experience a plus, as well as exposure to affordable housing projects.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead one or more large and/or complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee all bidding efforts, proposals, and client interview process.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of full construction cycle from preconstruction involvement through final closeout, including sub-structure and super-structure, envelope, finishes and MEP systems.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Procore or similar), scheduling software (MS Project or similar).
  • LEED, CM-Lean, OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, PMP, Passive House and other trainings and certifications are beneficial.
  • Superior communications (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, ability to plan and manage time well, prioritizing critical path constructability issues.

  • Ability to physically maneuver on a construction site.
  • Use of PPE as required.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $175,000 – $230,000. Compensation is part of a comprehensive total rewards package, including bonus and final offers based on job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
