About the Role

An InServ Sr. Project Manager is responsible for guiding the development, strategy and lifecycle management of multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires strategic oversight and coordination across cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes. Success is measured by project profitability, labor efficiency, safety performance, equipment utilization, project cash flow, and client satisfaction as reflected in quality surveys.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Execution
  • Own all aspects of project planning and execution, ensuring alignment with company standards and client expectations.
  • Lead project routines including kick-offs meetings, status updates, stakeholder communications and change management.
  • Conduct site visits to view project work to be estimated and oversee the estimation of work to be performed.
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship, adherence to schedules, budget control and efficient labor utilization.
  • Submit all purchase orders, billing and accounts payable documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Technical Oversight
  • Manage the fabrication and installation of systems including Process Piping, Utility Piping, HVAC, Plumbing, Structural Steel, Equipment Setting, and Medical Gas ensuring compliance with codes, budgets and timelines.
  • Maintain full working knowledge of safety protocols in occupied Healthcare, Industrial and Bio Pharma facilities.
Financial and Performance Monitoring
  • Conduct monthly cost reviews and performance reports to identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor project cash flow and profitability, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Client and Team Relations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead project teams with effective management techniques to maximize performance and collaboration.
  • Ensure team compliance with company policies and promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to plan, organize and manage personnel, equipment, and materials across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Innovative problem-solver with a creative approach to addressing industrial contracting challenges.
  • Skilled in conducting root cause analysis to identify and resolve project issues effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate daily with internal teams and client representatives.
  • Hands-on project oversight through frequent site visits and thorough review of job cost reports to maintain control over project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching, mentoring skills and developing both direct/indirect reports.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities due to changes in manpower, client needs, weather conditions and other dynamic factors.
Physical Requirements
  • Capable of working in both outdoor and indoor environment under varying conditions including cold (food processing, pharmaceutical or winter work) heat (work around ovens or outdoor work in summertime) and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Able to physically navigate tight and constrained spaces around operating equipment, including climbing, crouching and maneuvering.
  • The ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time, and to be able to walk uneven terrain, climb and descend access ladders to access basements, interstitial spaces, and roof areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 40lbs within plant facilities.
  • Frequent driving required, including out-of-state travel for project oversight.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends for shutdowns and fast-track projects.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home for up to one week at a time.
Travel

Depending on project requirements and location, travel is estimated at approximately 30% of the regular work schedule.

Education & Experience
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience working for a process mechanical subcontractor in the areas of process piping, utility piping, HVAC, plumbing, structural steel, equipment setting, with at least four years in a field management position.
  • Extensive experience in large ($5M+) heavy commercial construction.
  • Must have experience with project development, scheduling, monitoring, and control systems and possess extensive knowledge of/experience with project management and scheduling techniques.
  • Requires intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Four-year college degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent education and experience.
