Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Des Moines, IA to lead complex marketing and technology initiatives with a measurable impact on business performance. You will craft delivery plans, oversee implementation, and work with cross-functional partners to ensure outcomes align with strategy.

The role requires 6+ years of PM experience, strong planning and communication skills, and familiarity with agile and product environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 6+ years of project, program, or initiative management experience.
• Experience supporting marketing projects and initiatives preferred.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and tactical capabilities; familiarity with PC and project planning software (e.g., Jira).
• Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, influencing, presentation and communication skills.
• Leadership skills to build relationships and drive outcomes.
• Experience in financial services and agile/product environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex marketing and technology projects with cross-functional teams.
• Develop detailed delivery plans and oversee initiative implementation.
• Create and maintain charters, RACI, and communication plans.
• Identify milestones, resources, risks, and outcomes for projects.
• Provide status reporting and portfolio-level roll-ups.
• Collaborate with IT partners and participate in agile ceremonies; prioritize epics and user stories.
• Apply project management, change management, and process-improvement methods.
• Stay current on best practices, trends, and innovations.
