Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Southern California to take ownership of projects from preconstruction through completion. You will work closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, clients, architects, and the project team to deliver quality results.

Role requires leadership of 15-20-person teams, deep knowledge of trades, and the ability to manage costs, schedules, and safety compliance. A strong emphasis on relationship-building and business development is expected.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Construction Project Management or as a project executive.
  • Experience leading teams of 15-20 people.
  • Working knowledge of skilled trades (carpentry, masonry, concrete, plumbing, HVAC, electrical).
  • Proficient in reviewing and understanding construction documents (specifications and drawings).
  • Detail oriented with ability to bring business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and directing projects from start to finish
  • Directs and supervises project administration staff and construction engineers, and works with superintendents to establish priorities
  • Forecasting, tracking/reporting project costs/revenue and adherence to project estimates
  • Resolving labor disputes, staffing, materials, and contract/subcontract issues
  • Assist with pre-qualification for bidders, respond to RFPs/RFQs, assist owner in delivery method selection
  • Coordinate with Safety Manager to meet safety goals
  • Develop relationships with Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Assistant Project Managers
  • Maintain project documentation (RFI logs, change orders)

Description
  • Overseeing and directing projects from start to finish
  • Directs and supervises work of project administration staff and construction engineers, as well as works in partnership with project superintendents to establish operational priorities
  • Responsible for forecasting, tracking/reporting project costs/revenue and adherence to project estimates
  • Responsible for problem resolution involving labor disputes, staffing, construction materials, construction equipment and contracts/subcontracts administration
  • Assist with pre-qualification process for bidders, develop and solicit responses to RFP's/RFQ's, assist the owner in selecting the appropriate project delivery method
  • Coordinates with construction Safety Manager to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with established safety goals
  • Develop strong relationships with Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Assistant Project Managers
  • Maintain appropriate documentation through project such as RFI logs and change orders
Profile
  • 10+ years of experience in Construction Project Management or recent experience as a project executive
  • Experience leading teams of 15-20 people preferrably
  • Working knowledge of skilled trades including carpentry, masonry, concrete work, site excavation and grading, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical
  • Have experience in multiple fields of construction
  • Working knowledge of construction technology and details
  • Candidate must be extremely proficient reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specifications and drawings
