Job summary

MPI seeks an experienced Project Manager for its Irvine team to lead Healthcare and Life Sciences projects valued at $10M+ from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in commercial construction, a background in Healthcare/Life Sciences, and is comfortable managing schedules, budgets, and documentation; HCAI/OSHPD experience is strongly preferred. Competitive salary up to $185,000.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
  • Strong background in Healthcare and Life Sciences construction.
  • Experience managing projects valued at $10M+.
  • HCAI/OSHPD experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Manage projects typically valued at $10M+, with emphasis on Healthcare and Life Sciences.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and financial projections.
  • Manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, safety, schedule, and financial performance.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while developing solutions to potential issues.
  • Work closely with field leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in preconstruction, estimating, buyout, and project turnover activities.
  • Support business development and client relationship efforts when appropriate.
  • Ensure all project requirements, specifications, and regulatory requirements are properly addressed.

A well-established Southern California commercial general contractor is looking to add an experienced Project Manager to its Irvine team. This is an opportunity to lead complex Healthcare and Life Sciences projects valued at $10M+, managing the project from preconstruction through closeout while partnering closely with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

The company specializes in complex commercial construction across Healthcare, Life Sciences, Higher Education, Senior Living, and other commercial markets, with Healthcare and Life Sciences representing some of its strongest areas of expertise.

Description

Profile
  • 4+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience.
  • Strong background in Healthcare and/or Life Sciences construction.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing projects valued at $10M+.
  • HCAI/OSHPD experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working on technically complex, highly coordinated construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and project documentation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
Job Offer
  • Base salary up to $185,000 depending on experience
