My highly respected Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex DSA and Public Works projects throughout Southern California. This role is ideal for a construction professional who has built their career exclusively within the public sector and has a proven track record delivering educational, civic, and government facilities for established, reputable general contractors.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, exceptional scheduling expertise, and a demonstrated history of successfully delivering projects valued up to $40M.

Description

Our Senior Project Manager will be resonsible for:

• Leading projects from preconstruction through final closeout
• Taking full ownership of project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and financial performance
• Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules while proactively driving project milestones
• Managing procurement, subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and risk mitigation
• Overseeing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and all project documentation
• Leading OAC meetings and maintaining strong relationships with owners, architects, inspectors, and public agencies
• Ensuring compliance with all DSA, prevailing wage, and Public Works requirements
• Partnering closely with Superintendents and field teams to ensure schedule adherence and successful project execution
• Identifying and resolving project challenges before they impact cost or schedule
• Leading project teams while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, budget, and schedule performance

Profile

The ideal Senior Project Manager will have:

• 8+ years of project management experience dedicated to DSA and/or Public Works construction
• A career background with established, highly regarded general contractors
• Demonstrated project tenure and career progression with a stable work history
• Proven experience managing projects through the full construction lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout
• Strong expertise in project scheduling, including developing, updating, analyzing, and driving critical path schedules
• Ability to independently lead and deliver complex projects valued up to $40M
• Extensive experience with educational, municipal, civic, government, or other public-sector construction projects
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and contract administration capabilities
• Experience leading project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred

Desired Skills and Experience
