Job summary

Alkami Technology is seeking a Sr Project Manager, Implementation to lead complex client implementation projects across Alkami Digital Banking solutions. You will independently manage portfolios, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive customer-facing execution to ensure successful onboarding and satisfaction.

The role requires advanced project management, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving to mitigate risks and improve delivery quality.

The Sr Project Manager, Implementation serves as an experienced implementation delivery professional responsible for leading complex client implementation projects across Alkami Digital Banking solutions. This role independently manages diverse project portfolios, coordinates cross-functional delivery activities, and drives customer-facing project execution to ensure successful implementation outcomes, operational alignment, and customer satisfaction. The position applies advanced project management expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and problem-solving capabilities to manage implementation complexity, mitigate delivery risks, and support successful onboarding and post-launch activities. The Sr Project Manager, Implementation operates independently on complex engagements, contributes to process improvements, and influences project delivery best practices that improve implementation quality, scalability, and customer experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead complex implementation projects by developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, coordinating cross-functional activities, and ensuring successful delivery within scope, timeline, and budget expectations
• Serve as the primary implementation lead for assigned customers by proactively managing communication, aligning stakeholder expectations, and fostering strong customer relationships throughout the implementation lifecycle
• Coordinate implementation activities across Product Development, Customer Success, Technical Consulting, Technical Implementation, Engineering, Customer Support, and vendor teams to drive alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables
• Analyze project risks and operational challenges by identifying dependencies, evaluating impacts, and developing mitigation strategies that support successful implementation outcomes
• Manage multiple concurrent implementation projects across varying products, customer segments, and complexity levels while maintaining high standards of project execution and customer satisfaction
• Facilitate customer-facing implementation meetings by leading project discussions, documenting action items, and ensuring accountability for follow-up activities and milestone completion
• Manage Jira tickets, project backlogs, and customer-reported issues by prioritizing resolution efforts and coordinating cross-functional support activities
• Monitor implementation-related development activities by tracking sprint progress, release schedules, and product dependencies and communicating relevant updates to customers and stakeholders
• Develop and maintain detailed project documentation by preparing status reports, meeting records, implementation plans, risk assessments, and customer communications throughout project execution
• Collaborate with customers and vendors by gathering configuration requirements, validating implementation details, and tracking progress on identified gaps or technical dependencies
• Ensure project objectives align with customer business goals and operational readiness requirements by maintaining a customer-centric approach to implementation delivery and issue resolution
• Drive transparency and stakeholder alignment by regularly communicating implementation status, risks, escalations, and delivery impacts to internal leadership and customer stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying project delivery inefficiencies, recommending process enhancements, and supporting operational scalability efforts within the PSO
• Serve as a subject matter expert in at least one functional area by maintaining current project documentation, contributing to best practices, and supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives across the organization
• Support and mentor less experienced project managers by sharing implementation best practices, assisting with issue resolution strategies, and providing guidance on project coordination activities

Recommended Experience & Education

Minimum Years Of Experience

3–6 years of experience leading implementation projects, customer onboarding initiatives, project delivery programs, or client-facing operational engagements within SaaS, fintech, banking technology, or related environments.

Education Level

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Information Systems, Communications, or a related field.

• Strong project scheduling, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects with varying complexity levels
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience managing project risks, escalations, and implementation dependencies
• Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, Slack, or similar platforms
• Strong analytical, organizational, and customer relationship management skills
• Ability to drive customer-centric implementation experiences while balancing operational priorities

Preferred

• Experience supporting fintech, SaaS, or digital banking implementation projects
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies
• Working knowledge of SQL, technical implementation concepts, or integration coordination activities
• Experience contributing to process optimization or operational improvement initiatives
• Experience mentoring project coordinators or junior project managers
• Exposure to project financial management, forecasting, or resource planning activities

The salary range for this position is: $106,000 - $118,400
