Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a seasoned project manager to lead complex engineering/construction projects in the United States. You will develop definitions, schedules and budgets, work with stakeholders, manage risk, and ensure profitability and client satisfaction.

You will guide staffing, review invoices, and manage changes while maintaining safety and compliance across projects. Travel up to 40% may be required depending on assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; 7 years related experience; travel up to 40%.
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification required within 12 months.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; workload varies.

Responsibilities

• Creates project definitions, schedules, budgets and objectives for projects using lessons learned.
• Prepares detailed statements of work with associated work breakdown structures and gains concurrence from stakeholders.
• Assesses potential project risk and outlines risk mitigation solutions.
• Ensures adherence to company and project management policies, procedures, and practices.
• Manages project costs and is responsible for profitability.
• Identifies, quantifies, and communicates residual risk (time and cost).
• Creates and reviews timely client billings with internal billing support.
• Responsible for ensuring timely client payment and follows up on outstanding invoices.
• Reviews and approves subcontractor/vendor invoices to ensure timely payment.
• Performs ongoing review of project status and manages change with governance processes.
• Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in engineering/construction applications.
• Develops and implements project resource plan and staffing, including outside resources.
• Communicates deadlines and objectives to project team members; assigns work.
• Coaches staff and escalates performance issues; maintains client relationships.
• Ensures client satisfaction by delivering quality, on-time outcomes.
